I don’t know what it is about Subway Art – but I just LOVE how it looks! When our last Anniversary was approaching, I decided I wanted to do something to capture our love story in a way that would be SO amazing that we could display it for us to look at each day. Enter in the ah-mazing Sameeha with The Inked Leaf. I told her about my idea and this talented {seriously… I melt over her designs} girly made it come to life!

This was SO easy to do, it’s ridiculously easy! There are only three steps… ready?

  1. Put on some music that reminds you of your sweetheart {ahem… this part is important!}, pull out the ‘ole laptop {or a pen and notebook}, and jot that love story down!
  2. Decide on a color scheme and any design elements you think are important to include.
  3. Type that bad boy up in a Word Doc & set to work making some words larger, others smaller, use different fonts, change the font color of different sections of your love story. If you have Photoshop skills, then you can have even MORE fun playing around with sizing, colors, fonts, and even designs. {P.S. If you are worried about both your Word Doc and/or Photoshop and you just want the magic to happen – contact my cute friend, Sameeha, let her read all about your love story and your design ideas, & have her jump right in! You’ll love the results!}

I told you it was easy! My husband loved this present! We have it in our bedroom in a spot I get to look at every morning when I wake up. It puts a smile on my face! Such a GREAT way to start out the day! Not only would this make a fabulous anniversary present… but it could be perfect for Valentine’s Day as well! You could also create something like this for a wedding present or a bridal shower. I mean, our love stories begin the moment you meet your other half, right? The journey is half the fun!!

TIPS:

When you write your love story, try to write it in a creative way. Make it fun but also keep it focused on the more important/meaningful events in your relationship. Don’t forget to insert inside jokes, cute quotes, or how you were feeling at each stage in your life. The more creative you are while telling the story, the more interesting it will be to read later. {I reread ours all the time!} Try to fit it on one page. When I first wrote mine out it was a page and a half. I wanted to be able to fit it into a frame and have the wording large enough to be able to read with ease. I kept cutting out a little part here and there until I had the most important events worded just perfectly… so it would fit AND be a fun read. You can start your love story whenever you want! Was it when you first laid eyes on each other? Was it your first date? Was it your wedding day? You are the author so YOU get to choose when it started. Your journey is not over! Feel free to end your love story with “To Be Continued….”
